Haiti – Politic : 112 Haitians expelled from the Bahamas back in Haiti
On Wednesday, 112 Haitian nationals, accompanied by immigration and law enforcement officers from the Bahamas, were repatriated to Port-au-Prince under an eviction order from the Bahamian Ministry of Immigration.
The Haitians (93 men and 19 women) arrived on board a flight from the BahamasAir, which had left the Lynden Pindling International Airport at 7:30.
These 112 Haitians add to some 400 others who have been expelled from the Bahamas since the beginning of 2019 and returned to Haiti.
In addition, the Royal Bahamas Defense Force (RBDF), announced that a group of 100 Boat-people Haitians (78 men, 15 women and 7 children) who tried to enter the territory of the Bahamas illegally in search of a better life, were intercepted in a small overcrowded boat, Sunday, August 25, 2019 27 kilometers northwest of Highborne Cay, in the Great Exuma District the largest island in the archipelago
The Haitians were handed over to the Bahamian Immigration Department, which took them to the Carmichael detention center in Nassau pending deportation to Haiti later.
